If you want to experience nature and learn something, too, the Nature Discovery Trail in the Rheinbogen Landscape Park is the right place for you. Here, children and adults can discover the local flora and fauna at eleven interactive stops along the way.

This water-skiing center has lots to offer for those who love being in the water – and also those who don’t. Let our neighbors in Langenfeld pull you across the water if you’re a water lover!

Fitness equipment, balls, ropes, Viking chess, rackets, boules balls and a whole lot more can be borrowed free of charge from three sports boxes across the city.

Exciting things to discover

In August 2024, two learning ships will dock at the Monheim jetty. On the MS Wissenschaft and the MS Experimenta, visitors can learn about the sciences hands-on and carry out experiments. You can find details on the opening times and admission here!

In the heart of the Urdenbacher Kämpe Nature Reserve, the former Roman fort at HausBürgel is just waiting for you to discover and explore it. The Roman Museum vividly tells visitors about thelife of the soldiers once stationed here, and outside, you can even smell real plants of late antiquity.

With the historic eel fishing boat called "Fiat Voluntas", the city has landed a "real contemporary witness" for you, one which inspires its guests as an interactive museum.

A must for literature fans: the eponymous writer grew up here in the Ulla Hahn House. Even as a child, Ulla Hahn discovered her love of language and found a retreat for writing in the old shed behind the house.

In Monheim, public space is given over to art. A wide range of artwork by various artists complement and enhance the urban area in many different spots. The works of art are freely accessible to everyone around the clock.

Monheim’s autonomous buses of the A01 line take you from the bus station in Monheim Mitte to the Rheinbogen Landscape Park via the old part of town. Up to eleven passengers can be transported at a still rather leisurely pace. This is where you can experience the mobility of tomorrow today. Hop on board!

Race through the countryside on two, three or four wheels: go-karts, bicycles and stunt scooters as well as play equipment can all be rented here. The integrated kiosk sells ice-cream, sweets and coffee.
