Starry Magic with ice rink
Christmas season in Monheim am Rhein – once again in 2024, that means ice skating and curling as part of the 10th traditional Sternenzauber (“Starry Magic”) campaign. Every year, the Christmas events draw tens of thousands of visitors to Monheim’s festively decorated town center. Twinkling Christmas stars on the trees and lampposts create a festive mood, and the aroma of delicious treats is in the air.
Amidst this Christmas idyll, you can find an ice skating rink on Eierplatz. The icy winter pleasure invites both young and old visitors to lace up their skates or join in the popular game of curling. Across 425 square meters, you can spin rounds and pirouettes to your heart's content. This special winter sports experience is open from November 29, 2024, to January 12, 2025. It's a free delight for groups as well as families and individuals. Those who prefer to simply watch the activities will find a warm and cozy spot in the new two-story Winter Chalet. Hot and cold drinks, along with a selection of culinary delights, are the perfect way to round up your Christmas shopping day.

Ice skating with kindergarten and school groups
Kindergarten groups and school classes can also book the ice rink exclusively in the mornings free of charge. Ice skates can be rented from size 28 for a rental fee of 2 euros. Sliding skates are also available for very small children for 2 euros.
