Exciting Sternenzauber program

There will be a varied program of activities and shows during the Monheimer Sternenzauber (Starry Magic) season. Whether you’re attending with friends, as a family, with a company Christmas party, or as a couple: There’s plenty of winter delicacies to try and events with a festive flair to attend.

Official opening of Monheimer Sternenzauber

Mayor Daniel Zimmermann will officially open the Sternenzauber season on Friday, December 1, at 4.00 p.m. A group of ice princesses and their friend the snowman will open the ice-skating rink, and the town center will turn into a starlit scene.

Christmas shopping in Monheim am Rhein

Shops in Monheim will be open on Sunday, December 17, and local retailers will launch plenty of campaigns and activities to make it special. The perfect opportunity for some Christmas shopping in a festive atmosphere before the holidays. Come and explore winter deals in the charming, owner-run shops and boutiques around the town center. Enjoy great service with a personal touch, short distances and find soulful, stylish gifts. Shops will be open from 1.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. on this day.

Discover the 24 artfully painted “Wonder Windows” that mark the Advent season as you stroll through the city center.

Monheim Christmas Market

This year is the first time you will have two long Advent weekends to enjoy the many culinary delights of the Monheim Christmas Market and explore its 40 stands offering creative products, most of them lovingly hand-crafted. The market will take place from December 7 to 10 and December 14 to 17 in Monheim’s historic town center. Its many small stalls, the warm lights, the smell of mulled wine lingering in the air, and the cozy atmosphere have made a visit to this beautifully decorated market an unmissable Advent tradition in Monheim.

For kids, there’s a children’s carousel and a visit from Santa to look forward to!

Culinary delights for every taste

Winter Chalet

The Monheim Mitte district also has plenty to offer for the palate. Right next to the ice-skating rink, the cozy two-level Winter Chalet invites guests to stay a while and enjoy a hot or cold drink and a variety of comfort foods, such as fresh Bratwurst (sausage) from a local butcher, fries with pulled pork, or a serving of kale.

Gänseliesel’s Christmas Lounge

From December 14 to 17, there will be a festive barbecue event, with a variety of tasty foods on offer in a lounge-y atmosphere under festive lighting. Juicy cuts of meat will be sizzling on the grill while fish is smoked over open fire. Different walking acts and live music with a saxophone and guitar provide an element of surprise.

Hölzchenmarkt

The Hölzchenmarkt (Wood Market) will take place from December 22 to 23 at Holzweg Passage in Baumberg. It offers lovingly decorated stalls with delicious foods, seasonal gifts, and out-of-the-ordinary handicrafts sold by local traders.
