In the heart of the lively city center, the Monheim Mitte complex invites you to go shopping and linger a while. With a great variety of shops with a modern feel and a central boulevard, the new city center is already taking shape in the area around the central bus station. Over 50 different shops and restaurants offer a variety of retail options and food choices. The construction of even more amenities is already underway, such as a hotel, the “SiNN” fashion store and a movie theater with six screens. Opening date: 2024! The new boulevard already links the bus station and Eierplatz square and invites visitors to take a stroll. The centrally located Eierplatz square is the gastronomic meeting point of the Monheim Mitte district. The square is used for the weekly market and as a venue for festivals. Children can play on its unique playground all year round. Three works of art by Jeppe Hein, Mischa Kuball and Tony Cragg round off the townscape.

Rathausplatz (city hall square) has also been given a new look with bright, tall shop windows whet your appetite for going on a shopping spree in Monheim Mitte. It’s easy to reach not only on foot, by bike and by public transport via the bus station, but also by car – thanks to 600 parking spaces with up to three hours of free parking.

In the Baumberg district, you will find two dense shopping areas in particular – along Hauptstrasse and in the newly designed Holzweg shopping street.
