Kulturraffinerie K714 event hall
A superlative event hall is being built amid historic walls on the banks of the Rhine in Monheim: the old Shell drum-filling plant is being converted into the ultra-modern, multifunctional event hall called Kulturraffinerie K714. The historic building on the Rhine Promenade will retain its industrial charm, despite the state-of-the-art stage technology that‘s moving in – as well as a restaurant with a view of the Rhine.
Industrial architecture and a modern glass construction
The architectural concept for the K714 event hall envisages preserving the listed façade of the former filling hall with its characteristic red bricks. A rectangular and significantly higher glass body will be inserted into the interior, which will glow in the evening and reflect the sunlight during the day.
From classical concerts to congresses
The K714 event hall will be suitable for both large and small events, such as rock, pop, classical and symphony concerts, as well as plays, musicals and comedy events. During the day, it will be available for congresses, meetings and conferences.
Dining with a view of the Rhine
The new four-story building made of glass blocks will feature a restaurant on the second floor and a bar on the roof terrace with a view of the Rhine.
The opening of the event hall is planned for early 2025.
