Rheinbogen Landscape Park

Enjoy the nature that’s found in the bend of the Rhine, the "Rheinbogen," at Monheim. There’s something for everyone here: rest and recreation in nature, cycling and hiking trails, a sculpture park as well as fun and adventure.

Family fun and action

The Rheinbogen Landscape Park is a paradise for families with children. The younger children can romp around to their hearts’ content in the (water) playground. Older children can try their hand at skateboarding, stunt scooters or BMX bikes in the skate park. In addition, there are numerous seating areas between the green spaces as well as natural stone blocks for picnics and resting on.

Discover art and nature

Fancy a bit of art? Then head over to the sculpture trail. If, on the other hand, you want to explore the local flora and fauna, the Nature Discovery Trail is just the thing for you. The 11 interactive stops along the way are exciting for children and adults alike.

Rental station and Tourist Information Office

Right at the entrance to the landscape park, opposite the playground, is where you’ll find Giebner’s rental station plus kiosk. Here is where you can rent go-karts, bikes, stunt scooters and play equipment. At the Tourist Information Office next door, you can get useful information, maps and brochures.

Air pump, bicycle repair column, drinking water column, toilets

Handy free amenities complement the leisure facilities in the Rheinbogen Landscape Park. Everyone can fill their own bottle at the drinking water column. Thirsty four-legged friends haven’t been forgotten either; there’s a little water bowl for them, too!
Next to the rental station is a public toilet that’s suitable for the disabled.
And cyclists have a bicycle pump and a repair column with tools at their disposal.

Ice-cream, coffee, snacks and lunch

Feeling a little hungry? Ice-cream, drinks and candies can be bought at the kiosk and ice-cream van right next to the playground. Fancy a delicious lunch or do you want to linger over a coffee? Right opposite the Rheinbogen Landscape Park is the historic old part of Monheim. Restaurants, beer gardens and cafés with a varied culinary offer all await you here.

Water, water, everywhere! Spread across an area of 320 square meters, water cannons, water tunnels and floor jets mean a whole load of fun for the entire family on warm days. A Monheim highlight!

Monheim has a wealth of sporting options: at the skate park, skateboarders, roller skaters, BMX and stunt scooter fans can give free rein to their passion on wheels. The only restriction is that you treat each other with respect. We watch out for each other here!

The playground in the Rheinbogen Landscape Park is a highlight for children and parents: the Rogue’s Tower climbing frame with tunnel slide can be seen from afar.

If you want to experience nature and learn something, too, the Nature Discovery Trail in the Rheinbogen Landscape Park is the right place for you. Here, children and adults can discover the local flora and fauna at eleven interactive stops along the way.

The Sculpture Trail features various works whose elements represent the imaginary history of Monheim that reaches far back to early times. They refer to flora and fauna, the Rhine fishing industry and traditional trades.

Do you want to explore Monheim am Rhein all by yourself? Then your first port of call should be the Tourist Information Office with rental station at the Rheinbogen Landscape Park. Here is where you can rent bicycles, go-karts and stunt scooters, buy ice-cream and drinks and, of course, get information about some great excursions.

Take a leisurely stroll, discover the city’s history and settle down in a beer garden. During a visit to the quaint historic part of town, lovingly restored houses with cafés, pubs and inviting beer gardens all await you.

Five golden geese were created by Saman Hidayat in honor of the heraldic animal of Monheim. They are life-size bronze sculptures that seem to dance happily among the people relaxing in the Rheinbogen Landscape Park.
